Mahakitaka – Place Name Corrections

Komiti Mahakitaka manages the submissions to the New Zealand Geographic Board regarding the changes we would like to make to place names in our rohe.

Komiti member, Mike Rochford is the driver of this kaupapa and has put forward a list of recommendations below. The list has been approved by the Executive.

Community consultation is part of this process when making recommendations to the Board.

The New Zealand Geographic Board meets to consider the submissions three times a year in April, June and September.

Listed below are the place names that the Komiti and Executive have approved for correction and submission to the New Zealand Geographic Board.
